Made to measure, part one. 🧵

Before the season kicked off, spent an off-day in our Tacoma gallery designing his custom sectional — every fabric, every inch, built around a 6'5" frame that spends Sundays getting hit for a living. Recovery is the other half of performance, and his is being hand-built in the USA right now.

Part two lands when his sofa from our friends at does. 🛋️

Caught in the act 🎃 Nigel snapped me doing my morning routine: nudging a pumpkin a fraction of an inch. Is it OCD? Maybe. But detail matters, and we carry that, lightly, into everything we design.

One of the questions we're asked most often is, "How do you know everything is going to work together?"

The answer starts here.

Long before furniture arrives or a room begins to take shape, we spend hours layering fabrics, woods, leathers, metals and finishes. We compare textures in different light, move samples around, and refine every combination until it feels balanced and effortless.

It's one of our favourite parts of the design process because this is where a home's personality begins to emerge. Every choice is made with intention—not just for how it looks today, but for how it will live, wear and feel for years to come.

Seeing these carefully selected materials eventually come to life in our clients' homes never gets old.

It's a reminder that beautiful interiors don't happen by chance. They're created, one thoughtful decision at a time. 🤍

When we designed the kitchen for our Pacific Northwest Idea House, choosing the counter stools wasn't as straightforward as you might think.

Each one brought something completely different to the space.

Option A offered sleek steel lines with black faux leather,clean, contemporary and wonderfully practical.

Option B combined warm burnished wood, top-grain leather and performance fabric for a timeless, family-friendly feel.

Option C reimagined the classic Windsor chair with a woven seat and performance fabric cushion, bringing character and texture to the kitchen.

We eventually made our choice... but we'd love to know yours.

Which would you have picked? A, B or C?

Somehow, we realised we've never actually shared the full reveal of the PNW Idea House.. and that felt like something we needed to fix.

This home was such a special project for our team, a celebration of everything we love about Pacific Northwest living. Calm, layered interiors. Natural materials. Spaces that feel quietly luxurious yet wonderfully liveable. Every room was designed to feel welcoming, timeless and deeply connected to its surroundings.

It's one of those projects that reminds us why we do what we do, and we're so excited to finally share it with you.

And speaking of inspiration...

This and next weekend, Nigel and I are heading into the woods for our annual retreat, a chance to slow down, reconnect, dream big and gather fresh inspiration before an exciting second half of the year.

While we're away, our wonderful design and logistics team will be in the Gallery Monday through Friday as usual, ready to help with design projects, furniture selections and anything else you need. We'll simply be closed over the weekends while we're away.

We can't wait to come back refreshed, inspired and ready to create even more beautiful homes.
