Join us to sew this adorable fish pouch!

All materials, supplies and tools are provided at this free event. Use fabric scraps to add fishy details to a pouch. Sew it up and add a drawstring.

This intro project is good for all sewists. However. There are many steps and sewing curves, so previous sewing experience is encouraged.

Those 14 and younger should have an adult stay to help.

Note: some flyers incorrectly say 5-7p. 11a-1p is the correct time of the event.

Free swaps!

Bring your tees and jeans to swap at the Remaker Fair on April 25. We all have some t-shirts and jeans that we don't need and can share with someone else. Or if they have seen better days, t-shirt material and denim are both amazing for repair and crafting.

(Sidenote: there will also be a tie dye area and a mending station. So bring those clothes that need repair or a pop of color)

The next free craft supply swap will be at the Sustainability Expo on May 2nd.
Bring crafting materials to the expo or check out the pickings and take some crafting stuff.

Celebrate earth day with recycling and creative reuse.

Come down to the Main Library Community Hub for crafts, sewing, recycling and more.

Swap jeans and tees.

Bring clothes to be mended by Tacoma Tool Library.

Oh and we will be raffling off some of the fun donations that have come in recently.

Come sew the perfect sling bag with us.

This versitile, slouchy bag comes in 2 sizes and is based on the Bestie bag. It is great for those who have sewn a few projects and are ready to sew a zipper. It will take most of the 2 hours, so if you have not sewn before this might not be the project for you.

All supplies, materials, machines and tools will be provided.

Those 14 and under should have an adult stay for the project.

Nows the time to try out tufting.

This is a super fun project with a lot of extra tools, supplies and materials. Don't worry, you dont have to go and buy any of those things, we have them for you to use. With all of the secondhand or reclaimed yarn and fabrics included.

During this 4 hour timeslot, you will trace a pattern, practice with the machines, create a medium (or 2 or 3 small) rugs, cut out, glue and finish your rug to take home.

Crochet something beautiful in celebration of spring.

Flowers are an easy way to play with different stitches and practice a lot of different crochet techniques. Make little flowers, stems, leaves and mushrooms. Or make a bunch of crocheted lavendar.

Use them to decorate clothing, make mini bouquets or arrange on an embroidery hoop as decor. So many fun ways to enjoy your blooms.

Drop in to this free event between 5-7p on Wednesday, March 4 at the 2nd floor Community Hub in the Main Library.

What a wonderful class at on Sunday!

We debuted a new class using quilts and blankets to make a pullover using only sergers. Another great use of existing textiles.

They explored with mixing patterns and textures while creating comfy wearable pullovers.

Spring is fast approaching and we are going to host 2 different programs for the littles in you life.

1. Is after school crafting. It's 8 weeks from 4-6p on Tuesdays. Each week will be a couple of fun creative reuse projects!

2. Is a spring break garment sewing camp. MON-THURS from 9-1p, April 6-9th. This is for sewists who are comfortable with the sewing machine and want to play with sewing clothes.

Both should be fun and will be loaded with lots of unconventional materials, new skills and confidence building.
