I was given a wonderful opportunity to design and build a custom guitar stand for a client. I used black walnut for the body and hand carved the horse heads at the top. The notches holding the guitar neck were hand carved also. Brass pins for the side of the stand were inlayed to suggest a fretboard and used red oak dowels for the fret markers. At the front of the stand on the bottom I also used hard maple to create an inlay of my clients name. A variety of joinery was used to make sure this piece would remain strong and last for many years to come.
