Honored to donate this one-of-a-kind hand-painted conch horn shell to the silent auction for the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter 💙🐚✨

Created with lots of color, reef inspiration, and a little Keys magic—this piece can also be blown as a conch horn and glows under UV light.

So grateful to support an organization doing meaningful work for children and families throughout the Florida Keys.

How fun!

Monroe County Fire Rescue (MCFR) will host five “Beat the Heat” events this summer at different locations throughout the Florida Keys. MCFR will provide a gentle misting stream of water for children of all ages to enjoy in a safe, fun environment. It is a great way to meet your neighborhood firefighters, learn about fire prevention, and cool off from the summer heat. Children are encouraged to wear a bathing suit and water shoes, and bring a bottle of water and a towel. The events take place on Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m.

• May 30 - Tavernier, Harry Harris Park
• June 6 - Layton Community Baptist Church
• June 13 - Big Pine Key Community Park
• June 20 - Sugarloaf School
• June 27 - Stock Island, Bernstein Park

“These events are one of our favorite ways to connect with families in the community, giving kids the chance to meet our firefighters and enjoy some time cooling off in the summer heat,” said Fire Marshal Marcos Osorio. “It’s also a great opportunity to share important summer safety tips while having fun at the same time.”

Save the date! Our next Dogwood Wellness Clinic is on Wednesday, June 10th from 9AM-12PM at our FKSPCA Key West Campus, 5711 College Rd. KW, FL.

Important information: No appointment needed. Services are provided on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Bring your Monroe County ID. Dogs must be leashed (non-retractable). Cats must be in secure carriers. Dogs or cats with any signs of illness or that show aggression may not be able to receive vaccines or services. All pets over 3 months will receive a Rabies vaccine unless proof of current vaccine is provided. Other services at discounted rates will be available.

The Florida Keys takes care of its own… and tonight is one of those beautiful reminders. 💙

This one-of-a-kind hand-painted conch shell will be part of the silent auction Saturday night, benefiting the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter.

Created here in the Keys and inspired by the reef, the ocean, and the wild color that surrounds us… this piece was made with a lot of heart, and I’m honored to donate it to support such an important cause. It is also painted with glow in the dark paint that lights up under the right light, it truly is an amazing piece of art.

Behind all the beauty of island life, there are children in our community walking through things most people never see.

The fkcs.org provides safe shelter, counseling, support, and hope for children, teens, and families throughout Monroe County.
