Our hearts are heavy today. 💔
Wednesday morning around 1 AM, our peaceful little community at the Shops at Old Taylor High was shaken when thieves broke into both Cinderella’s Closet and unfortunately Sophia’s Brocante. In a matter of moments, an extensive amount of merchandise was taken — pieces we worked so hard to bring into our store for our customers and community.
For small businesses, these aren’t just “items on shelves.” They represent long days, sacrifices, hard work, and years of building something meaningful brick by brick. To walk into our store and see that violation was heartbreaking in a way that’s hard to fully put into words.
But even in the middle of hurt, we are incredibly thankful that no one was physically harmed.
We want to sincerely thank the Taylor Police Department for their ongoing help through this investigation, along with our loyal customers, fellow small business owners, friends, family, and everyone who has reached out, checked on us, prayed for us, and offered support. Your kindness has carried us through one of the hardest days we’ve experienced as a business.
This Saturday, we are asking our community to rally around local businesses and come shop with us. A percentage of Saturday’s sales will go directly to Cinderella’s Closet — a nonprofit organization that provides prom ensembles free of charge to young ladies in Taylor and surrounding areas who need help attending prom. 🤍
Small businesses are built on community, and right now we feel that more than ever. Thank you for standing beside us.
