CONFESSION: SOMETIMES THE EQUIPMENT ISN’T THE PROBLEM. IT’S THE PERSON BUYING MORE EQUIPMENT. 😂
Listen, I love a good machine.
Show me a printer, cutting machine, heat press, or something that promises to make creating easier, and you’ve got my attention.
But here’s the funny thing about being creative.
Sometimes you spend more time researching what to buy next than actually using what you already own.
Guilty! 🙋🏾♀️
Over the years, I’ve collected tools for different projects. Some worked beautifully. Some came with a learning curve that tested every ounce of patience I possessed.
And some are still waiting for their big debut.
As I prepare for the next stage of Mahogani City, I’m asking myself three questions before making another purchase:
Will this equipment help me produce something I can actually sell?
Can I use what I already own to do the job?
And will the investment pay for itself in a reasonable amount of time?
Because having a room full of expensive machines means very little if nothing is coming out of that room.
This season is about being more intentional.
Less collecting. More creating.
Less guessing. More testing.
Less spending simply because something looks impressive.
The goal isn’t to own every machine. The goal is to build a business that works.
Fellow creatives, tell me the truth. Have you ever bought supplies for a project that you STILL haven’t started?😫🤔🤦🏾♀️
