🔨 **Something exciting is about to begin...**

Over the next several weeks, I'll be taking you behind the scenes of one of the most rewarding projects I've had the opportunity to be part of.

The **D.D. Doll House** in Marshall, Illinois, built in **1879** and recognized as a local landmark, is currently undergoing restoration. As part of that effort, a new carriage house is being built to complement the original home's beautiful Italianate Victorian architecture.

I'm honored to be contributing to this project by reverse engineering and precision machining decorative architectural components based on details from the original home.

It all starts with **one original corbel** and **one original modillion**—both nearly 150 years old.

Using 3D Modeling Software, VCarve Pro, and CNC machining, I'll digitally recreate these original architectural details before producing precision-machined components from **Accoya**. Those components will ultimately become:

• **24 custom corbels**
• **200 custom modillions**

Each component is carefully engineered for strength and longevity, including laminated construction and precision alignment features. Once machined, the components will be passed along to a local woodworking shop Kostyo Woodworking I'm working with for assembly, sanding, and primer. From there, the completed components will be supplied to the restoration contractor for the new carriage house.

Technology creates precision.

Craftsmanship creates beauty.

After machining, many projects receive additional hand-finishing.

This may include:

This is where many projects truly become unique.

The combination of CNC precision and hand craftsmanship allows us to create details that stand out from mass-produced products.

Now the design becomes reality.

Our CNC machine can cut, carve, engrave, and shape wood with exceptional accuracy.

But it's not just for making new projects.

We can also transform existing furniture.

For example:

✔ Custom buffet doors
✔ Decorative drawer fronts
✔ Furniture restoration components
✔ Matching replacement parts
✔ Custom carved details

Imagine taking an older buffet, entertainment center, or cabinet and giving it a completely new look with custom-designed doors and drawer fronts.

It's often less expensive than replacing furniture and creates a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Think of a CNC machine as a highly skilled craftsman that follows digital instructions with incredible precision.

Before cutting begins, we create a machining program that tells the machine:

✔ Where to cut
✔ How deep to cut
✔ Which tools to use
✔ How fast to move

This process allows us to create highly detailed projects while maintaining consistent quality from piece to piece.

Not every project begins with perfectly flat wood.

Many beautiful live-edge slabs naturally warp, twist, or cup over time.

Using our CNC equipment, we can precisely flatten and surface slabs to create a perfectly level working surface.

We can:

✔ Flatten live-edge slabs
✔ Surface rough lumber
✔ Prepare slabs for epoxy projects
✔ Add custom carvings after flattening
✔ Create custom inlays
✔ Simply flatten your slab and let you complete the project yourself

Choosing the right material is just as important as choosing the right design.
