After Day 3 of our construction project , we thought we would show the treasures that have turned up! Was it Jesse James hidden treasure? Was it buried gold forgotten from years gone by? Nope! But it was interesting. The blue sign is a door push from the early 1900's along with the 2 bottles from times gone by. The coin however is a head scratcher. It is an early American large cent. It is severely corroded but zoomed in picture it appears to be the early style that was minted from 1808- 1814. if it was the other style they quit minting them in 1839. How did that get there? Our carpenter may have shed some light on it, as it seems this building appears to have been built on a previous foundation for an earlier structure. Fortunately, whoever built the rock foundation knew what they were doing, and it is as good as new!

Under Construction Day 2! The crew really got a lot done yesterday. They tore out and reframed the front right hand side of our store front. Today they will be tearing out the other side of our 116 year old building. We are thankful to get this fixed as the floor joists were in pretty bad shape! We are OPEN today as well, just please exercise caution before entering. Feel free to call the store 417-264-7773 and we can let you in the back door also, and as always we will be manning the phones! Thank you. for your patience while we improve our old historic downtown building!!
