The Yarn Bodega 1st Meetup is on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at 12pm! Bring your projects & let’s hang out!

There are only 10 spots, so reserve yours today on our website! Donations will go towards our GoFundMe, in an effort to be the 1st dedicated yarn store in the Bronx!

Bronx Witch HQ has graciously offered a 1-hour reservation to their Reading Room for our fellow crafters/makers to meet & get to know more about The Yarn Bodega.

Located at 910 Grand Concourse, Bronx Witch HQ is a Black-owned bookstore & metaphysical shop.

Get there: 4/D trains to 161st St/Yankee Stadium or BX1/BX2 buses to Grand Concourse/E 161 ST

**Weather permitting, we will extend our meetup at 1pm, across the street at Joyce Kilmer Park

Yesterday, I spent the day scouting potential locations for upcoming crafters’ meetups in the Bronx.

I started at , a hip hop themed cafe in Hunts Point. I had a nice chat with & her husband on how we could use the space. The vibes are warm & welcoming, embracing Bronx culture in a positive light. Their iced chai latte was refreshing in the heat of the day.

Next, I hopped on the Bx6 bus to check out Joyce Kilmer Park on Grand Concourse, near the Yankee Stadium. There are benches throughout the park & tree lined lawns for picnics. By chance, was hosting their Solstice Tea & Tarot event in the park, directly across the street from their shop. Aly gave me a tour of their shop space & offered a 1hr reservation for their Relax Room to host a meetup. More details to come!

Today was Worldwide Knit/Crochet In Public Day & I joined several groups at Bryant Park with my crochet project, wearing my The Yarn Bodega logo tee. I met so many makers, some new-to-me, some I’ve only known or followed online, & of course some great yarnie buddies!
