“Le Portrait”

This piece is the first of a series called "Portraits", the mix of a close realistic portraits mixed with abstract makes you jump to a world of dream where the cold snowy landscape becomes part of the character and the character part of the landscape. You can almost feel her moving backwards, as if done to tell you with her wise stare : "I know".

I love the sea in all its states and as an admirer of the Sublime I love a sea in chaos. I find beauty in the movement of the water, and terror in the ship struggling but in the middle of it a golden spot where hope can always be found.

Happy Monday and have a great week!

I love working with soft colors such as those. The fog evokes the slow and quiet time that nothing can stop, and in the middle of it, the remains of an old stone pillar still standing, eroded by time. The vase and the dried flowers holding on to the last of their beauty. The slow movement, the stillness and the soft colors are appeasing, and reminds us to slow down, remember, and linger on the nostalgia of forgotten times.
