I’ve hosted quite a few things Thanksgiving’s over the years, but this year I’m only hosting Christmas. I thought I would share some of my past Thanksgiving tables with you, some of them I’ve never shared on here before mainly because the photos aren’t great and I couldn’t get very nice lighting or we were in the middle of remodeling a space so everything kinda looks less than perfect but I thought hey why not share them here anyway. Sadly, I’m missing a few years that I must’ve gotten too busy to take the picture before we all sat down, but I have quite a few to share:)
I love hosting, but I can’t decide what I love decorating for more, a Christmas table or a Thanksgiving table. Both are fun. I was looking back over the years at some of the simple tables I’ve done. Everything’s always simple, mainly with mismatched pretty dishes, pumpkins of some sort, and something else from nature like hydrangeas, walnuts, apples, twigs and such. I try to spend next to nothing on the tablescape. I might buy a couple pumpkins that I end up roasting and making into pies later or maybe an inexpensive bundle of flowers but for the most part, I keep it at a very low cost. When it comes to linens, I have collected so many over the years and the best place to find them is at estate sales. Those older ladies would immaculately stain treat all of their linens, starch and press them and you can get the most beautiful bundles of cloth napkins for next to nothing. I slowly but surely have added various silver plated silverware that I’ve picked up at yard sales and such and now I have quite a bit of extra that I pull out for the holidays. I just use stuff that I have and things from outside. I actually prefer to do a no spend holiday table. It gets really fun to try to be creative. But also sometimes I’ve been very busy and not done extravagant tablescapes it sort of depends on how much time I have and what I’m feeling up to. But even the most simple with just a few pumpkins always looks beautiful. What is your favorite thing to decorate with on your Thanksgiving table?
