Just finished this beauty using my new rulers from Piece N Quilt and also rulers from The Quilted Pineapple. Pattern is Sapphire Blossoms. I used Omni thread from Superior Threads and Black Select Poly batting from Quilters Dream.

This order was a bit of a challenge. A challenge that I thoroughly enjoyed and am very blessed to get to be a part of. Hostess Karin Swisher designed this quilt for her guest, Jakob, a foreign exchange student from Austria. She had motifs embroidered in the corners of the panel in the center signifying interests and experiences. She wanted a large bear head (School mascot) embroidered in the center but they could not seem to get that done. Due to the shapes and sizes of the motifs it was a challenge to figure out how to pull all of this together. A bear head was quilted in the center with red stippling throughout. This was done to pull in the red camo print from the bear paw blocks. Note the grey sections were intentionally blocked to allow space for signatures and sentiments to be written by schoolmates, friends and others whom Jakob has met here in the states.

Here are two different holiday quilts. They’re both flannel tops with flannel backing and wool batting. The wool really gives a nice loft and quilts beautifully. The tops are very similar. One is done with reindeer, holly, and bows. The other has various snowflakes. Thank you Ellen Bigelow for the opportunity to Quilt for you!
