One of the comments we hear all the time is:

"I haven't been able to burn candles for years, but I can burn yours."

Of course, everyone's different, but we've had customer after customer tell us they had given up on candles because they left them with headaches. That's one of the reasons we're so committed to keeping things simple and clean. Our candles are made with 100% soy wax, cotton wicks, no dyes, and with fragrances carefully chosen and sourced.

Some of our favorite messages are from people who thought they were done burning candles but found they could enjoy them again with ours.

My little candle helper this week. There aren't many jobs she can do yet, but she's a pretty good stirrer, stickerer, and wick placer.

We talk a lot about our candles, but don't forget, we make wax melts too. They are perfect for homes with curious pets, busy kids, or anyone who just prefers to plug in a warmer and go about their day.

Same scents, same clean soy wax, just a different way to enjoy them.

Many of you may not know how Yesterway Candles came to be, so I thought I’d share a little of the story behind it.

I’ve always loved candles but a few years ago, my niece started sharing some of what she had learned about the toxins found in many traditional candles, and it sent me down a rabbit hole of research. The more I learned, the more I realized I didn’t feel comfortable burning most store-bought candles in our home anymore.

So, I started learning how to make clean, non-toxic candles that we could enjoy safely ourselves. What began as a personal project quickly turned into something I truly loved doing.

As I got more confident in candle making and blending scents, I started thinking maybe I could sell a few candles to help support another passion of mine…our horses. We raise Drum horses on a small scale, and let me tell you, these big boys and girls can EAT.

What started around our kitchen table has grown into something that now helps support two things I love deeply: creating clean, cozy candles for people’s homes and caring for these oversized hay-burning beauties.

Some candles are for decorating. Ours mostly get burned while we’re cleaning the kitchen, folding laundry, or trying to make the house feel a little less chaotic after a long day. What are your favorite scents?

We love slow evenings at home with no real agenda, just being together as a family. A candle burning in the background has become part of those evenings for us.
