EDIT: Oh man. I was hoping the weather predictions would change but they’re not. Rain ends before the event but there is wind and strong wind gusts coming today(up to 40mph). I can’t risk my art and safety so I’ll have to bow out. I was really looking forward to it but it’s not worth the potential loss I’ll face.

Meet one of What The Shelly’s? Antique Fairy Tale pieces! Created with authentic antique paper. This piece is “The Mermaid”. Originally illustrated by John Dawson Watson in 1867. Then recreated by bookplate in 1883 for Queen Titania’s Book of Fairy Tales. The paper used in this piece is 143 years old.

Amazing. The book is in bad shape so she will have a new life as home decor instead of sitting on a dusty shelf in an antique shop. She is preserved on a 7” x 6” scallop shell with a stand to display. She will be ready by my next event. Come see her at The Harvest Arts Festival- Downtown Toms River - 10/17 11-5
