Less than a month to go until the Kansas Museum of History reopens to the public! Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 22, 2025, and join us for a special opening day event.

Lobby doors will open at 9 a.m. with speakers starting at 9:30 a.m. The museum gallery will open shortly after speeches have concluded. Guests can look forward to musical performances from Lem Sheppard, John Brown Boys, and Maria the Mexican. As you explore the new museum, interact with roaming entertainers including Civil War reenactors, college mascots, and Wizard of Oz characters.

Additional parking will be available at the old Regal Hollywood theaters parking lot (6200 SW 6th Ave). A shuttle will transport visitors to and from the museum. Stay tuned for more information as the date approaches!

Designer confession: Sometimes it’s very hard to select things for ourselves! I’ve been looking for the perfect rug for my dining room for MONTHS (like daily!). Well, I took a chance and bought this without seeing it in person and I AM OBSESSED. Cannot wait to get it placed. 🤩🤩
PS. It seems that it’s feline approved. 😌

When you hire me to put together your design project, any and every detail will be thoughtfully selected! In this particular case, we need to introduce more turquoise/green to the space. I have selected an antique looking soft green subway tile to replace the fireplace tile. The picture above the mantle needs height on the left, so I proposed this vase with stylistic florals that can be changed out with the seasons.

Today’s presentation went just great. 😌 The color scheme of this great room/kitchen/entry/dining room is soooooo beautiful! Soft blues and teals, caramel and gold. YUMMY.

Great way to display a collection!

I finally gave my old film cameras the spotlight they deserve! Just used some shadow box frames and mounted each one inside — simple but makes such a statement.
