Y’all. I used to spend hundreds every weekend chasing this exact feeling. So I brought the vibe home and built my own theatre room. This Govee backlight sits behind the TV and paints the whole wall to match the movie, color for color. We do not just watch the movie over here, baby, we be IN it.

Comment GLOW and I will send you the link. It is in my bio too. Go get your glow. 👑

“Why her?”

It’s the question I’ve felt underneath people’s breaths my entire life.

I think I was born with a light I didn’t understand yet.

Just a little girl with something in her that made people uncomfortable before I even had the words to explain what it was.

People would literally try to fight me over a light I hadn’t learned how to protect.

There was no blueprint. No generational wealth. No family safety net. No village.

There was just me and God.

I know poverty.
I know abuse.
I know dysfunction.
I know what it means to inherit circumstances you never asked for and then have to spend your adulthood unlearning what kept your family in survival mode.

But somewhere inside that little girl was a voice that kept saying:

“This can’t be all there is.”

So I learned.

I learned people.
I learned systems.
I learned money.
I learned business.
I learned strategy.
I learned myself.

And I took the intelligence survival gave me and turned it into something bigger than survival.

I didn’t become successful because I forgot where I came from.

I became successful because I refused to let where I came from define where I was going.

The world tried to make me hard.
It tried to make me bitter.

But I decided my pain would stop with me.

I learned how to break cycles without breaking people.

And that little girl?

She’s still in me.
Still carrying that light.

Only now, I know what it is.

It wasn’t that I thought I was better than everybody.

It was that I was never willing to believe I was less than what God called me to be.

So when I hear that question:

“Why her?”

I smile.

Because I know the answer now.

The light they tried to put out was never theirs to extinguish.

God put it there.

And baby…

what God anoints, the world can inconvenience: but it cannot cancel. 🖤

i spent seasons feeling like i was never chosen.

not by the people i hoped would recognize me. not by the rooms i thought i had to earn my way into. not by people who were too superficial, too limited, or too emotionally weak to see what God was building in me.

at first, rejection felt like proof that something was wrong with me.

then God made it my training field.

being overlooked taught me discernment. discipline. self-trust. standards. it taught me how to build without begging for validation from people who could only value what was convenient, familiar, or easy to control.

what they rejected, God was preparing.

and now, seeing this black convertible with CHOSEN on the plate feels like one of those signs from life that lands different when you finally understand the assignment.

i was never waiting to be picked.
i was being prepared to walk in what had already been placed on me.

some doors closed because God refused to let limited vision become my identity.

remember this:
when people overlook you, do not automatically call yourself unwanted. sometimes you are being trained to stop asking small minds for permission to become who God already chose.

what did rejection teach you that acceptance never could?

slow motion saved me from abandoning myself.

I spent so long in survival mode that every move felt like an emergency. Motherhood, business, responsibilities, personal goals : everything needed attention, and I kept treating my life like it was on fire.

Then I learned that one call still counts.
One task handled.
One walk.
One plan written down.
One disciplined choice made before the excuses got loud.

That is how I started moving from barely reacting to deliberately building. Not dramatic. Not perfect. Just intentional enough to keep my future from being held hostage by today’s exhaustion.

Slow motion is better than no motion because consistency can carry what urgency keeps dropping.

I’m not behind. I’m becoming dependable to the woman I said I wanted to be.

What are you still moving toward, even if your steps are slower than you planned?

i stopped waiting for somebody to notice.

when it became my turn to build, i had responsibilities on one side and doubt on the other. motherhood. business. bills. the kind of daily pressure that doesn’t care how inspired you feel.

i learned to make progress in the leftover hours. after the house got quiet. between calls. with a tired body, a full calendar, and no audience standing around cheering.

at some point, surviving long enough changes you. you stop asking who’s watching and start asking what needs to get done.

the applause department was closed, so i picked up the hammer myself.

i don’t announce every move anymore. i execute. i adjust. i keep building until the life i prayed for has somewhere to stand.

because the woman who runs her own life cannot keep handing the construction plans to spectators.

what are you building quietly right now?

i learned how to build while everything around me was still under construction.

there was no perfect village. no step-by-step instructions. no ready-made plan for motherhood, money, business, or becoming a woman i could finally recognize.

so i figured it out in real time.

survival mode taught me how to stretch a dollar, make decisions under pressure, and keep moving when nobody was coming to save the day. it also taught me to confuse exhaustion with strength and silence with peace.

that part cost me.

i had to choose something different. learn what i didn’t know. create structure where there was confusion. stop waiting for permission to become the woman i kept imagining.

life wasn’t sending a manual. it was sending bills, lessons, and deadlines.

now i’m building with intention. a life with more peace, better standards, stronger boundaries, and room for the woman i’m still becoming.

no blueprint. just discernment, discipline, and a little bit of “watch me figure this out.”

what are you building right now?

strong truth: the absence of instructions does not mean you are unqualified. sometimes it means you are the one creating the way forward.
