This home’s wall of windows frames an incredible lake view, but the angled windows up near the peak were a different story. Too high to reach, shaped to the roofline, and letting in light the homeowners couldn’t control.

Our Busters Blinds team installed Hunter Douglas Applause PowerView cellular shades, custom-made to the exact shape of every angled window. Now the whole wall is covered, from the lake view to the peak.

- One tap controls it all. The app, remote, or schedules handle every shade. No ladders, no reaching.
- An exact fit. Each shade follows the roofline, so coverage goes all the way into the corners.
- Comfort year-round. Honeycomb cells trap air to insulate against summer heat and winter chill.
- The view stays. Control the light up top while the lake stays front and center.

For these homeowners, the biggest win was peace of mind: every window in the room, even the ones at the ceiling, now works on their terms.

These homeowners had beautiful skylights they couldn’t reach to control. Now, with Hunter Douglas motorized skylight shades, they adjust the light with a tap, a schedule, or their voice.

Why honeycomb? The cells trap air to create an insulating layer that helps block summer heat and keep winter warmth in. That matters most on skylights, where the sun hits hardest. All the light you love, none of the heat you don’t.

Big skylights = beautiful light… and a LOT of heat and UV pouring into this church’s main entry, right onto their hand-painted mural.

The fix: 3M Prestige 70. It’s a clear, non-metallic film that blocks up to 97% of infrared heat and 99.9% of UV rays while keeping the natural light they love.

Can you even tell it’s there? That’s the point. 👀

Cooler entry, protected artwork, same view of the sky.

Not every room needs the same kind of light. ☀️

For this lakefront home, the goal wasn’t simply to cover the windows, it was to control the light differently throughout the home.

In the bedrooms, blackout shades provide the privacy and room darkening they wanted. But in the spaces where they spend most of their time, they didn’t want to lose all that beautiful natural light or the feeling of being on the lake.
That’s where these Graber roller shades came in.

Instead of blocking the sunlight, they diffuse it, softening the harsh direct light and creating a comfortable glow throughout the space.

Blackout where they needed it. Diffused light where they
wanted it. Because the best window treatment isn’t always the one that blocks the most light, it’s the one that gives you the right light for the room.

Smart shades aren’t just about pressing a button. They’re about making your home work around you. 🏡

These Graber motorized cellular shades use Zigbee technology to bring light control, comfort, and convenience together, especially for windows that aren’t exactly easy to reach.

Open them in the morning. Close them when the afternoon sun hits. Set a schedule. Or adjust them without ever walking over to the window.
And because they’re cellular shades, you’re also getting that added layer of insulation at the glass to help create a more comfortable space throughout the year. It’s a window treatment you don’t have to think about, and that’s kind of the point.

Big windows and glass doors can completely transform a room with natural light, but all of that glass also means more solar energy entering your home. For this bedroom, we installed 3M Prestige 70 Window Film to help reduce solar heat coming through the glass while also blocking UV rays that contribute to fading and damage over time.

That means more comfort for the room and added protection for the hardwood floors, furniture, fabrics and everything else you’ve invested in inside your home. And one of our favorite parts about Prestige 70? It does all of that while maintaining a bright, natural appearance through the glass. You don’t always need to make a window darker to make it perform better.

Keep the light, protect the room and manage the sun!

Not every window needs the most complicated solution. Sometimes you simply want privacy when you need it, natural light when you want it, and a clean look that works throughout the home.

That’s one of the reasons faux wood blinds continue to be such a practical choice. For this home, these Alta Faux Wood Blinds give the homeowners the ability to easily adjust the amount and direction of light coming into each room while creating a consistent look from space to space.

And because faux wood is designed with durability and everyday living in mind, you get that classic wood-blind appearance without needing real wood.

Simple? Absolutely. But sometimes simple is exactly the right solution.

Have you ever walked into a room and thought…

“Why does this space feel so calm?”

Most people assume it’s the furniture, paint colors, or décor. But one of the biggest differences is actually how natural light fills the room. Harsh sunlight creates glare, strong shadows, and bright hot spots. Soft, filtered light creates a completely different feeling. That’s why homeowners love Hunter Douglas Silhouette Window Shadings.

Instead of simply blocking sunlight, they gently diffuse it into a soft glow that helps reduce glare while keeping your home bright, open, and connected to the outdoors. It’s one of the reasons they’re such a popular choice for living rooms and bedroom spaces where comfort matters just as much as style.

Sometimes the goal isn’t to have less light. It’s to have better light.

Most people are surprised when they learn that not all window film is installed on the inside of the glass. For this commercial parking garage, we chose 3M Silver Exterior 15 because it was the right solution for the building.

Unlike most residential and commercial films that are installed on the interior, this product is engineered specifically for exterior applications. That allows it to help reduce solar heat, cut glare, and improve comfort inside. Every building has different glass, different exposure to the sun, and different performance goals.

That’s why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We believe in finding the right solution for the situation. Because the best window film isn’t always the same one...It’s the one that solves the problem.

One of the biggest challenges homeowners face isn’t finding a beautiful window treatment…It’s deciding between natural light and privacy.

Open the shades, and your room fills with sunlight, but so does your view from the outside. Close them, and you gain privacy, but lose the light that made you love the room in the first place.

That’s why we love Graber Top Down Bottom Up Cellular Shades.

Instead of choosing one or the other, these shades let you lower them from the top while keeping the bottom covered. That means natural light can fill your home while maintaining the privacy you want.

It’s a simple idea that completely changes how you experience a room.
