For this lakefront home, the goal wasn’t simply to cover the windows, it was to control the light differently throughout the home.

Most people are surprised when they learn that not all window film is installed on the inside of the glass. For this commercial parking garage, we chose 3M Silver Exterior 15 because it was the right solution for the building. 
 
Unlike most residential and commercial films that are installed on the interior, this product is engineered specifically for exterior applications. That allows it to help reduce solar heat, cut glare, and improve comfort inside. Every building has different glass, different exposure to the sun, and different performance goals.

Every project has two exciting moments. 
 
The first is installation day. The second is getting to come back after the home is complete. When we first installed these MagnaTrack motorized screens, this home was still not fully complete. Now, seeing everything finished from the landscaping to the architectural details, you can appreciate how seamlessly the screens become part of the design. 
 
We recently stopped by to make sure everything was operating just as it should, and it was a great reminder that the best products don’t just look good on day one they continue performing long after installation. 
 
That’s the goal with every project, creating a space that’s just as comfortable and enjoyable years from now as it is today.
