I always love chatting with customers—those little conversations are where the real stories live.

Today’s story started with a simple piece: a large yellow Pyrex bowl. Nothing fancy at first glance…just bright, cheerful, and sitting quietly on the shelf. But she noticed it. Really noticed it.

She told me she had come in a few days earlier and couldn’t stop thinking about that bowl. Something about it stuck with her. And today, she came back for it—because she realized it wasn’t just a bowl. It was a memory.

She smiled and said it was the perfect gift for her younger (78 yrs old) brother.
“We call it the Puppy Bowl,” she said.

And just like that, the story unfolded.

Growing up, her brother had this special dog—one that insisted on having her puppies under the front porch. Not exactly the most convenient place. So whenever a new litter arrived, her brother had a routine. He’d take a big yellow bowl, crawl under that porch, and gently gather up those tiny puppies one by one, carefully relocating them somewhere safer…somewhere easier to reach.

That bowl wasn’t just a tool—it was part of a ritual. A moment. A memory stitched into their youth.

So today, that “simple” yellow Pyrex bowl left the store with a whole lot more meaning than it came in with. It wasn’t just going home as a gift…
