Homespun Boutique in the News! A wonderful article penned by the great Peggy Haine appeared in last Saturday's Ithaca Journal. Thank you so much for your kind words about our history and new store location in Trumansburg!

Note: there is a typo in the photo caption, fixed here in red ink. Julie Jordan is another area "Julie Icon" who is famous for her long-running Cabbagetown Cafe, classic "Wings of Life" cookbook, and other culinary endeavors. It's an easy mistake as OUR Julie Schroeder is also a gourmet cook, in addition to her textile & fiber fame!

Homespun Boutique (est. 1974) is a store specializing in natural fibers, fabric, yarn and patterns. After 44 years of fun in Ithaca, we've moved to nearby Trumansburg...and OH MY....we are SO very happy in our new location! There are still some boxes to unpack and stuff to shelve, but the store is coming together nicely! And, best of all, the enthusiastic reception by both long-time and new customers dropping in daily has been heartwarming beyond words!

For millennia, textile arts have been central to humanity. Whether one’s style is retro or haute couture, traditional quilting or avant-garde art, treadle or state-of-the art machines or even handwork, Homespun's selection of fine fabrics and yarn will nurture your most creative expressions!

Trumansburg is shopper-friendly! There is always plenty of free parking and much to do here in Homepun's new hometown! AND, if you don't want to drive out from Ithaca, TBurg is right on the TCAT #21 bus route which runs from early morning to pretty late at night! https://www.tcatbus.com/ Don't let a rainstorm or blizzard stop you from visiting our store full of yarn and fabric! Let someone else drive! Come sit and knit a bit, have a bite to eat at any of the nearby cafes, and browse the main street! Trumansburg & Homespun Boutique welcomes you!

The Dog Days of Summer are here, and thanks to a thoughtful gift from a Trumansburg artist, we now have a water bowl out for our canine visitors! And "Ivy" was very for thankful for a long drink before taking a snooze under a classroom table while Mom perused the yarn and fabric today!

So many of our old friends have been dropping by our new store since we opened our doors; some come bearing gifts! Former Ithaca Commons store owner, Barbara Parker came just the other day and touched our hearts by presenting us with a copy of the award-winning 1942 book "The Little House" by Virginia Lee Burton. How many of us grew up with this timeless classic which so poignantly illustrates the passage of time and changes through life?

For over 4 decades, Homespun has always welcomed children, both of customers, as well as those of staff. We've watched them grow up and bring their own children though our doors! The overflowing basket of toys and books which has by now delighted generations, has just been placed out in its new home. It's never too early to be introduced to the world of textile arts!

Homespun Boutique's doors are open Tuesday-Saturday 11 AM to 6 PM.
