I wanted to re-introduce myself! I’m Caroline, the founder and creative behind Tuckahoe Home.

I started Tuckahoe Home in 2020, and it’s hard to believe it’s been six years already. For those who are new here, here’s a little about me:

🌿 I live outside Richmond, Virginia in Goochland County with my husband, our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and our two Boykin Spaniels. Being Nellie’s mom is my greatest joy.

🌿 Before starting Tuckahoe Home, I was a School Psychologist specializing in evaluations for dyslexia and ADHD, as well as counseling girls and young women. I also coached and served on the board of Girls on the Run.

🌿 I began decorating and painting as a creative outlet while navigating IVF. What started as a way to process a difficult season grew into a business and a calling. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful to have discovered work that blends creativity, beauty, and connection.

🌿 I grew up on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, and the Bay will always feel like home. Many of my favorite color palettes, memories, and artistic inspirations trace back to life by the water.

🌿 I love arranging flowers, singing, and playing mahjong with friends. Music has always been a big part of my life—it’s even how my husband and I first connected in college. He’s in a band and we love to duet together at home. I love a mix of classic rock, country, hip-hop, alternative, and bluegrass depending on my mood!

🌿 Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was one of the most challenging seasons of my life, but after surgery I am incredibly thankful to be cancer-free. Both IVF and cancer have taught me how precious ordinary moments are and have deepened my appreciation for home, beauty, and the people we love.

🌿 Above all, I hope to be a kind and genuine person who brings goodness, beauty, and joy into the world. Through my art and interior design work, my goal is to help create spaces that become the backdrop for life’s everyday moments and lasting memories.

I thought it would be fun to share my favorite paint colors in our home 🌿 These are colors I’ve lived with and love — anything that didn’t work for us didn’t make the cut.

All are Benjamin Moore except Calke Green, which is Farrow & Ball. A few are tinted down to lighten them — see notes below!

1. **Yarmouth Blue** — I first fell in love with this at the Spa of Colonial Williamsburg. Our bedroom is color drenched in it at 50%, and we carried it throughout our primary suite by using it on the closet ceiling (25%) as well, with White Dove on the walls and trim.

2. **White Dove** — My forever warm white. It’s slowly taking over our house in the best way.

3. **Saybrook Sage** — We used this in a small hallway off the foyer, color drenched at 50%. It’s such a beautiful gray-green. I hope to wallpaper the ceiling in this room at some point!

4. **Calke Green** — Our formal living room is fully color drenched in this deep green.

5. **Dove Wing** — A soft, creamy neutral we used in the foyer, stairwell, and upstairs hallway. It flows well with White Dove on the trim and in adjacent rooms.

6. **Palladian Blue** — On the beadboard ceiling in our sunroom, paired with White Dove on the walls and trim for a soft, airy contrast.

7. **Queen Anne Pink** — A subtle blush we used on our daughter’s bedroom ceiling, tinted to 50% for a softer wash of color.

8. **Athabasca** — Used on our daughter’s trim and lacquered bamboo dresser. It pairs beautifully with her Galbraith & Paul Bouquet wallpaper.

9. **Narragansett Green** — A deep green-navy we used on our front door and shutters. Classic & timeless!

Fun fact: This project was at the childhood home of our very own . Her mom was a client, and that is how Margaret eventually came to work for Tuckahoe Home! I loved designing these beautiful Roman shades for their historic West Point home. How gorgeous is this river view?
