EXCLUSIVE PIMA COUNTY TURQUOISE

This material is being dug on an open range in Pima County south of Tucson. It is very hard and stable, needing no stabilization. It's pretty variable, with a lot of zinc (yellow) and manganese (black) and iron (red) inclusions, but not overly so, just enough to give the stones some "zat". A fair bit of it is nearly pure sky blue like the Sleeping Beauty Mine.

The price varies from $25 to $500 per pound, depending on the quality of the stone and quantity purchased. The cabochons are being offered at $1.00/gram for the parcel of ~300 grams. Message me to arrange for viewing in person. There are several hundred pounds of the low grade available now.

Here are two fabulous pieces for the serious collector of Amerind Silversmithing. Crafted by a deceased Chihuahuan known only as Juanito, these cuffs are in town for the gem shows this week only.

The one on the left is signed. The stones are spiny oyster and turquoise. The asking price is $800.

The one on the right is unmarked. The center stone is Morenci Turquoise and there are 22 stunning Aguascalientes Fire Agates on the sides. I don't know whether the turquoise has been stabilized or not or the weight of the stones. The turquoise appears to be at least 200 cts and the fire agates look to be in 5-9 ct size range. The asking price is $3500 but it can be had for much less. It was offered to me for way too little by the person holding it and I told him to jerk it up because the stones without the silver and craftmanship are worth $3500 at retail and silver over $100/oz spot price now.
