DITIYOHIHI GVNEGI LOUNGE CHAIR
Warrior Lounge Chair — “Warrior’s Rest”

There are pieces that fill a space… and then there are pieces that carry a story.

The Warrior lounge chair is not simply a place to sit—it is a moment of pause, reflection, and quiet strength.

Rooted in the legacy of Cherokee warriors, this piece embodies endurance, protection, and the unseen battles carried within. Crafted from rich walnut, its hand-carved frame speaks through form—strong, grounded, and intentional. The silhouette begins with weight and presence at the back, gradually tapering forward into sharpened lines—mirroring the evolution of the warrior’s mind: from burden… to clarity.

The tufted back—subtle, crinkled, imperfect—reveals what is often hidden beneath the surface. The internal struggle. The resilience. The truth behind the mask.

Soft curves meet defined edges in a quiet tension—inviting, yet powerful. Drawing you in. Asking you to engage. To sit. To reflect.

Inspired by moments around the fire—where stories were shared, wisdom passed, and silence held meaning—this chair becomes a contemporary expression of those sacred pauses.

The grounding back legs anchor the piece like roots—symbolizing origin, stability, and the beginning of transformation. From there, everything moves forward with intention. Nothing forced. Everything earned.

This is where strength meets stillness.
This is where the warrior rests.

A portion of proceeds supports Native American veterans and their families—honoring those who continue to carry the spirit of the warrior forward.

Some journeys don’t just shape where you go… they define what you create.

Our Founder & Creative Lead, Cray Bauxmont-Flynn - .bflynn recently had the honor of joining Talk Design with Adrian Ramsay—diving deep into a life shaped by movement, memory, and meaning.

From the many places he’s lived and traveled, to the cultural foundation of being a citizen of the Cherokee and Delaware Nations, Cray shares how these experiences became the driving force behind Amatoya -

A vision rooted in heritage.
A practice guided by storytelling.
A brand built to honor the depth, beauty, and evolution of Native American Indigenous artistry.

This conversation is more than design—it’s about identity, perspective, and the power of creating with purpose.

Listen in and experience the story behind the story.

Design is more than what we see—it’s what we feel, what we remember, and what we carry forward.

We’re proud to share that Amatoya Founder, Cray Bauxmont-Flynn, has been featured in Design in the Media—a moment that speaks not only to individual recognition, but to a larger movement within the design world.

At its core, Amatoya is about storytelling. Every piece, every space, every detail is rooted in Native American heritage and shaped by a deep respect for culture, balance, and intention. It’s about creating work that resonates—beyond aesthetics—into something meaningful and lasting.

This feature reflects a growing shift in design—where authenticity matters, where diverse voices are being elevated, and where culture is not just referenced, but honored.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to be part of a conversation that continues to evolve and inspire.

The story is just getting started.
