It’s bound to happen if you have 4 children and when it does, you better hope you used rug wool!

It’s a workhorse and is so incredibly durable. It can stand up to almost anything, even a two year old going through potty training.

Use a wool-friendly cleaner, let it dry, vacuum up the wool pills and then you’re ready to go!

Punch needle is functional and p**p literally happens and we can roll with the punches!

Punch needle slows down my brain in the very best way.

This is from when I made the wildflower rug almost 3 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long!) and I have the best memories of that season.

Dot and George were so little and I was pregnant with Gus which means he was still in “captivity” and unable to p**p on my floors🤣

I spend most afternoons in my sunroom with my kids playing around me while I punched. Slow sunny days.

Life is obviously busier with 2 additional children and work that still has to be done for The Urban Acres, but there’s something about having a project that you can sit and chip away at.

Enjoy your days friends, it goes by quicker than you realize!

Make. An. Heirloom. 🕊️

Our world is absolutely full of cheap, quick, throwaway projects.

I tell people how long I work on a rug and they can’t imagine spending so much time on one thing.

And as someone who also sells affordable starter projects, I understand that it’s great to have an easy on-ramp to a new activity.

BUT

I think we could use more of the “slower” projects, too.

The ones that take you longer than an afternoon, that give you a sense of pride when you’re done.

The types of projects that you enjoy the journey as much as the finished result.

This is one of the projects. It takes a little longer and gives you more opportunities to slow down.

It’s made from high-quality materials so you can keep it forever and hopefully pass it down!

It will take you a few weeks to complete, maybe even a few months, but when you’re done I promise you’ll go “wow! I can’t believe I made that!”
