1000 Paper Cranes.

All handmade and folded by the bride herself. She gave them to me in a tote. It took me over 18 hours to string them all together in over 100 different length strands.

Then our team hung them (and the lighting) in the Rotunda of Philbrook over the dance floor as a surprise to their guests. Truly one of the most unique and special installs we’ve done.

This Japanese tradition, known as Senbazuru, symbolizes hope, healing, good fortune & peace. Since the bride spent time in Japan, it held a special meaning for her and was such a cool surprise for their guests!

These silk hydrangeas are incredible & so life-like. Here’s a few reasons I’m loving them:

- If you shake the stem, they move the same way a real one would. This makes them more believable from the get-go.

- They are a true white instead that off-white/slightly yellow color real white hydrangeas normally are.

- The leaf pattern is so realistic. You can see the greenery petals side by side with the real hydrnagea stemhere and they are nearly identical.

- These silk stems cost 5-6 times as much as a real white hydrangea stem, but I get to use them over and over, so I consider that a business investment. I also don’t have to process them for days, stress about them dying the night before the event and other insane things florists worry about🤭

Have I spent thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars testing out floral varieties for our silk collections & custom designs?
Yes. I have an entire wall of totes organized by color, variety, etc. It’s insane😭🤣

Do I do a happy dance when I find life-like varieties after searching and searching?

Also yes. It’s like Christmas when I find a new, reliable supplier. Anyone in florals knows this!

I get asked all the time where I buy my silks. Truth is, there’s a lot of places. Some companies offer really beautiful garden roses and mediocre options in other varieties. Some wholesalers offer great blue options and really tacky white options. It all depends on what I’m shopping for. I’ve spent a lot of time, money & effort to find the best of the best, so I keep those lil’ wholesaler secrets to myself🤭

The perfect color palette to lead us into fall. Happy 1st Day of Fall!

As someone who works outside a lot, I can’t tell ya how DONE I am with the heat🤣It’s been exhausting this year….a little moreso than past years for some reason.

Give me all the foggy, overcast, chilly mornings pleaseeee. Designs go from colorful and bright to moody & romantic. Let’s see what fall has in store for us🌺
