Up next, this cutie cute cami finished just in time for summer. This project was the one I’d pick up whenever I had a meeting and needed something that required minimal attention while still getting to keep my hands moving.

PetiteKnit // Mette’s Cumulus Top is knit top-down in fi*****ng weight yarn. Once you knit up the four triangles and join them in the round, it’s straight stockinette stitch until you get to the hem. It’s finished at the top with i-cord straps; the beautifully finished edges make it totally worth the time spent.

The yarn I chose is Desert Thread’s Solitude, which is a blend of superwash merino, mulberry silk, and yak. It’s soft and absolutely delightful to work with and wear.

I’m notorious for finishing projects and never wearing them, but I’m gonna be wearing this one all summer long! 😎

Catching up on pics of FOs I finished foreevvverr ago. This one is from String Theory Yarn Company’s Box of Light from the end of last year. I *loved* getting to open every daily envelope. Each one had a note that told me about what makes them special, from the specialty yarn to all the notions and treats. And now that the project is done, I can’t wait to accessorize and feel like a fancy lady with my tiny dog in tow. 😛

Yarn used is 9 different mini skeins of Manos del Uruguay 🇺🇾.

Steeking! It’s definitely up there as one of the scariest concepts for a lot of knitters. Taking scissors to your knitting?! Big yikes.

This was my second time taking this class, and while I have yet to put my learnings into practice, thanks to the helpful guidance and encouragement of , I feel like I could brave it. One of these days. 😅

Thank you for an amazing class, Heather! And thank you for a wonderful conference overall!

This past weekend was The Knitting Guild Association (TKGA)’s Next Level Knitting Conference. I spent two full days knitting, learning new techniques and practicing others. I learned about stranded brocade, the flat three-needle bind off, and finally tried my hand at argyle! (It was so fun, and I picked up some super helpful tips from on yarn management so that intarsia doesn’t have to be so fiddly.) I’m still working on my sample for that one so I’ll share that one when I finish it. 😛

Anywho… what a great weekend. If you’ve never heard of TKGA or this (virtual) conference, I highly recommend it. This time, there were over 25 sessions that we have access to for 6 months, so there’s time to go back and watch any I didn’t get to attend live. There are amazing, knowledgeable instructors, many who are master knitters, and it’s a great opportunity to grow your craft.

The committee is exploring other formats and there will be some more focused events coming up soon. (The next one is all about shawls!) You can check out tkga.org to learn more. 🧶
