Now harvesting Swiss chard.
Cooking Instructions:
1. Prep the Chard: Wash the chard thoroughly. Separate the leaves from the stems. Chop the red stems into small 1/2-inch pieces, treating them like celery. Roughly chop or tear the leaves.
2. Sauté Stems and Onion: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red onion and chard stems. Sauté for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions are caramelized and the stems are quite tender.
3. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Wilt the Leaves: Add the chard leaves to the skillet. They will look like too many, but they will wilt down. Stir constantly for 2-5 minutes until just wilted.
5. Season and Serve: Remove from heat. Season with salt, pepper, and a splash of vinegar if desired. Top with parmesan cheese if desired.
Enjoy!

A coalition of public health, consumer protection and farm advocacy groups from across the political spectrum are mobilizing against the bill. It is “a grotesque, record-breaking giveaway to the pesticide industry”, said Brett Hartl, government affairs director for the Center for Biological Diversity, which is lobbying against the provisions. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/12/republican-farm-bill-pesticide-environment

They cultivate the soil, control insects and fertilize. We protect them from predators. Seems like a fair trade.
