Sometimes, in the midst of disaster, is when we see God most clearly. While helping after the tornado in March, we met Mick. As is customary with every Samaritan's Purse relief operation, Mick received a Billy Graham Study Bible. Even though he had not been a regular church attendee and lived a wild life since his mom passed away, he never fully forgot the Lord she taught him about! He cherished this Bible as you can see in the photo of him kissing it!
In the months since the tornado, Mick has frequently come into the store to visit and we've come to love him dearly! He came in to hang out a week ago on Saturday. As we always do, we invited him to join us in church the next day. This time, though, he DID show up at church! He joined us this past Sunday for Service and Sunday School. The Gospel was preached and Mick wept. He expressed his faith and trust in Jesus, and it was an incredibly beautiful morning!
Three days later, Mick suffered a massive heart attack. Yesterday, I joined his family for his Honor Walk so he could donate his organs to bless others. Nobody had any idea this was Mick's last week here on Earth. But, God knew and He drew His child to Him in the last moments of his life. God loves Mick and He loves you, too!
