Hi friends,

I have fallen behind on the farm and been lousy at communicating with people this week.

My dad arrived on Monday and it's been a special week for us. Last year, he was in a motorcycle accident that caused him to break his neck in two places and his back. He was extremely close to being paralyzed. He also suffered from sepsis at that time.
He was recovering really well from all that but 2 months after the accident he became extremely sick to the point where my aunt was telling my brother and I we might need to come down and say goodbye because no one could figure out what was wrong with him and he was in bad shape.

This was even more difficult to handle because we had lost our mom the year before to cancer and our grandma to cancer just 6 months before my mom.

Thankfully they finally figured out what was going on with Dad and he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Lung Disease. Unfortunately there's no cure. It's been a long hard year of learning how to manage the disease but my dad has been doing really well despite the symptoms and adapting a new way of life.

We weren't sure if he would ever be able to make the trip up here again.

He arrived on Monday and his birthday was on Tuesday. He and I went up to Acadia and had a wonderful time exploring the area.

All that to say I've been putting family first this week and I apologize for not being as present with friends and supporters as I would like to be.
