The Sabaar Coat Hanger will be on view this weekend as a part of LA Design Week/end showing with lad/w presents our joy is resistance come through this Sunday for the reception!

Named after the Arabic word for cactus, each peg is removable and can slide forward or further inside to adjust to your needs. The top has a lid so you can store un used pegs inside, or as a secret spot for storing additional small items. The form of the coat hanger is in reference to the architecture of the ancient structures in Palestine with the curved motifs as a direct line to the visual language of furniture design from the region. The many pegs are like the spikes of a cactus, a symbol of Palestinian resilience. The two forms come together to create a visual language that expresses the resilience of a people and honors the visual language of the region.

So incredibly honored to be named in the Dwell 24 for 2026. Huge gratitude to River Davies , Dan Howarth and Jack Balderrama Morley for sharing my work, interviewing me, and believing in the direction Studio Sour is heading in with our newest collection.

It feels so overwhelming to have had such a positive reception to the new collection, especially since this was my first real effort at more narrative works. More is in development as I fight through burnout, and still working a full time job. Moments like this make it all worth it, and to be seen and appreciated while representing Palestine is everything I could ever hope for.

First day of done. Thank you to all the people who came out and the generous conversations had. Website update is live with all the new pieces in the collection. It took a lot to get these larger works done, and a big step away from the smaller decorative pieces we’ve been doing. We have reduced, but still have many of the smaller works available through our market section. Looking forward to the next two days here

✨Find us on the corner of Wood & Division from 11-7 for day two of ✨

I had fun with this playful sign and might make some furniture with the same idea in mind.

We’re sharing a booth with so you should swing by and check out her wonderful ceramics as well.

It’s been a while since my last post, so I wanted to share some photos of the Zaytoon Chair. This one/one chair is crafted from walnut hardwood and features a laser etched tatreez olive motif. I created it specifically for the charity auction and was so glad to see it go to a good home.

This was the first chair I made since graduating (8 years ago) , and it was an incredible re-learning experience. I’ve got some exciting new ideas for future versions of this chair, which I’ll be sharing soon 👀

35mm film photos of Palestine from end of summer 2023. Jaffa, Jerusalem, and the fruit trees planted by grandfather in Tira

I’ve been considering selling prints of these, along with other film shots from this trip (though maybe not the one of me inhaling kanafe… unless you think it’s a vibe?). What do y’all think?

This was my last trip home, and looking at these photos feels like stepping into a different world. It was on this trip that and I had the chance to have a wedding with my family in Palestine, before the one we had in Chicago. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to share those moments with them before everything changed. These photos were taken right before the chaos began, with the camera being passed between us, unaware of how much the world would shift in such a short time.
