Blaker Surfboards is proud to present a photo
from last Saturdays Grand opening of the Texas Surf Museum. L-R Dickens Bishop, Clay and Allene Blaker.

Clay accepted the John Olvey Spirit of Surfing award (which he is holding) for his late and great father and Texas legend, Mack Blaker. Mack’s personal contributions and mentorship to so many regarding Texas surfing and Diving are immesurable.

It was a great day for all that attended! The day started with a tribute and Birthday wishes to Mr, Henry Fry which was great!!

We also want to thank the Texas Surf Museum for putting on a fantastic event! They have created a friendly, fantastic and informative museum about Texas surfing that rivals any Surf museum anywhere for all that surf or for those that are just curious/interested about the sport of Kings!!

“Dear John Olvey” a short documentary film directed and edited by Scott Thurman of TAMUCC of the life of John and his widows perspective of the sudden loss of her husband. Scott was moved by John’s reputation in our community and his love for life, his wife, family, friends, surfing and his art.
