My Tennessee Mountain Home — A Dolly Parton Tribute

Some songs you hear… and some songs you can see.

This olive green hat is another tribute to Dolly Parton and the beautiful simplicity of “My Tennessee Mountain Home.” I listened to the song over and over again, carefully pulling details from Dolly’s words and bringing them to life through the artwork.

A little cabin tucked among the mountains. A straight-back chair. Honeysuckle climbing along the fence beside the lane. A songbird perched on a fence post, singing its melody. And high above it all, an eagle spreading its wings over the distant hills.

And here’s the part I love most about this design: put the song on while you look at the hat, and suddenly you can visualize the lyrics. As Dolly sings about her Tennessee mountain home, your eyes can travel across the hat and find the cabin, the fence, the honeysuckle, the songbird, the mountains and the eagle. The artwork becomes a little visual journey through the song.

That was my hope from the very beginning—to create something that didn’t simply reference the song, but actually felt like the song.

I wanted this hat to feel like stepping into that peaceful Tennessee mountain morning Dolly describes… where home is simple, nature surrounds you, and "life is as peaceful as a baby’s sigh."

The olive green hat is finished with a layered band of shimmery chiffon, velvet, and satin ribbon, accented with a delicate mini bouquet of purple flowers and a tiny yellow miniature rose. Those finishing touches add just a little softness and whimsy to this otherwise rustic mountain scene.

I hope I captured even a little of the heart and soul of “My Tennessee Mountain Home,” and that this hat gives Dolly Parton the beautiful tribute she deserves.

✨ She got the Dolly sparkle! ✨

Well, it was decided… this hat simply had to sparkle! 💎💕 I added rhinestones throughout the design and around the crown, giving this Dolly tribute just the right amount of glitz and glamour.

Because really, what’s a Dolly Parton hat without a little—or a lot—of sparkle? 😉✨

I absolutely love how the rhinestones bring the butterflies, stars, and intricate laser-burned artwork to life while keeping that soft, feminine rose-gold and mauve feel. I actually think the sparkle elevated it rather than competing with the artwork.

Dream big. Love big. Live fully. And always leave a little room for sparkle. 💗✨

Remember this custom Elvis hat I made? The customer that purchased it sent me a message with photos! Here's what Morgyn had to say:
"Oh I love that it is one of a kind! I actually met Priscilla Presley and had her sign it underneath and draw the TCB logo. She couldn’t stop raving about it. You are welcome to share the photos if you ever you wanted to! Again, she just raved about my hat!"
