Pumpkin, the 8 week old yellow lab mix, thought she had a home yesterday but her new family never showed up. She is now available for adoption (by application only).

Pumpkin is a VERY sweet girl who still has that puppy breath we all know and love. She weighs only 9 pounds right now, but her personality is the size of a Great Dane! She loves other pups and keeps up with the bigger dogs. Her favorite is following people around and sticking right by their side. You will never be lonely with this little one around. She is a goofy, happy, playful pup with lots of energy and love to give!

Please remember puppies are a lifetime commitment and not just a temporary play thing. Puppies require a lot of attention, responsibility, commitment, and patience. Pumpkin is not housebroken and doesn’t know any of her manners which means everything is a chew toy to her. If you are not in a position to train, love, and care for a puppy…do not apply.

PRINCE WILLIAM
FAUQUIER
KING GEORGE
FREDERICKSBURG CITY

If you do not live in any of the counties/cities listed above you are not eligible to adopt at this time. That is because our contract, and state law, only allows counties that border stafford to adopt unfixed animals. This is not our rule. It is a law 3.2-6549 . We appreciate your understanding.

Are You Missing Us?

These 5 parakeets were picked up yesterday late afternoon at Brooke/ Raven Road, 22554.

We have had an increased amount of calls about parakeets in the wild here recently. We would like to remind everyone that if you are letting your pets outside to get some “fresh” air, they all need to be safe and sound and they still do require adequate care.

If you can’t keep your pets, please do not just let them go or leave them out in the wild. Contact your local Animal Shelter instead. There are resources available, dumping an animal is illegal.

A parakeet can survive 48 hours in the wild before it dying of starvation. There are also predators outside. Parakeets do NOT know how to fend for themselves and it is not acceptable to desert them, or any other pets.

Meet Scottie! This handsome fella is about 2 years old, neutered and vaccinated. Scottie has shown no issues at the shelter, but as always he would need a meet and greet with other dogs in the home. Scottie does have an old eye injury that has been looked over by a veterinarian. It does not need any special care. Scottie would love a forever home to call his own.
