The wood is tough and it has been difficult to lathe. I've gotten across the finish line twice although, it took a 2 hour battle on the lathe. The 2nd live-edge bowl was fierce; my back and shoulders aching, the next day.

It's Complicated...that name just feels right.
First, a weird wedge turns out to be Spalted Maple, then 3 bleached oak rails wind up in the "Free" wood bin: perhaps inspiration overtook my better judgment? As the song goes, I didn't my way.

Music stand w/light.

Finished this project after it gathered dust for the past 10 monrths.
Made using a guitar, (from Goodwill) shelving braces (from Restore) and a desk lamp from Wal Mart.

Lichtenberg Woodburnimg created the vine-like patterns.
Between the 2 back braces there's a small box for picks etc.

Doing my best to keep my cosmic karma balanced. Since my honey ain't loafin' around! She baked a sourdough bread yesterday and butterscotch brownies with espresso today.
So I made her a french-tapered rolling pin using myrtlewood and maple.
