Some little baby is going to be sleeping soundly under this gorgeous canopy! This was so fun to make. When I started in this business 14 years ago, it was all white drapes with no trim. I'm really glad I made a decision to buy a Johnson ruffler for $150 off of Facebook marketplace because ladies and gentlemen gathered everything is back! Pleating to pattern means every single step of the process is focused on the pattern match. Our in-house test is to see if we can find the seam. They're just stunning when it's done right!

It was a somber week in the workroom. Like many of you, we are heartbroken over the loss of Ella Cook. My 19 year old sophomore arrived safely home from Ohio State on Wednesday. She and Ella were on the same dance team for 4 years at Linda Dobbins. Danielle’s daughter, who is a junior at Tulane, went to HS with her. We have many friends at Advent too. Everyone is connected in some way. It is too easy to imagine that it could have been one of own daughters (or sons).

I came into the workroom today to finish my last project of the year. I am grateful I get to work with my hands. It helps me process the grief. This is just the most gorgeous silk. Her family has asked everyone to wear Easter colors at her funeral tomorrow. In your honor Ella, this gorgeous brilliant Easter Chick Yellow silk. Rest in Peace sweet angel.

The number of canopies and fancy valances that we have in our work room has increased dramatically. This is the inside and outside of a bed canopy. For this design we made individual pieces and put a skirt underneath. Fancy! And so much fun! Thankful for our clients who push us! You know who you are!!

Working alone this morning I was able to slow down and behold these gorgeous rich fall colors. I'm so grateful to work with such beautiful textiles on a daily basis. To be trusted to make soft furnishings that will be apart of people's daily lives. It's an honor. Thank you to my team that rises to the challenge of continually learning! Ripplefold sheers are so soft and elegant on these huge windows over looking Birmingham. This was our end of the weekend install and nothing makes me happier then the length being perfect at install. There are no Drapery pins you can maneuver on ripplefold!

My favorite kitchen space. This is for a dear book club friend who lives my neighborhood. It was our first project for the incredible .johnson. Roman shades, pillows, a bench cushion, and we even recovered the chair seat seats. We did the entire house and it was such an incredibly fun project! But I would be in heaven if I got to eat breakfast here every day!
