Melisa asked if I could customize this beautiful oak display cabinet and add some matching shelves to display her late-father’s belt buckles and pocket watches!

Delivered a couple of OG GMWoodworks pieces to one of my favorite customers today and installed some custom shelves in the bathroom 😌
•
1) Blanket Ladder: 20.5”x60”
2) Hexagon Shelf- not surprisingly going to be used to hold essential oils 😂
3) Bathroom Shelves: 5.5”x19” with black corner braces as brackets to match the mirror trim

Basement Upgrade 🔓

Nick and Megan’s basement renovation is GORGEOUS. They have been absolutely killing it and I was honored when they asked me to play a part!
•
I custom built and fit this waterfall butcher block counter top to the space (~3’x9’) and added some shelving into their bar closet. You better believe I’ve reserved a spot for my whiskey glass and enjoyed a cocktail or two while on the job 😉

Cozy Breakfast Nook 😌

Spent the past week on this built-in bench to create a functional breakfast nook for this space. Swipe to see the before- Olivia had a vision and trusted me to make it a reality! Can’t wait to see it in action. I’ll take a mimosa, please 🥂

The long-end of the bench opens up for storage and I re-routed the floor vent to maintain the integrity of the airflow.
•
I won’t lie- I was hesitant to take on this project as I’ve never done anything like it before and I believed it was beyond my skillset. But ultimately Olivia convinced me and at the end of the project, I felt very proud and glad I chose to stretch myself.
•
I’ve said it before but woodworking has been a great outlet for me creatively and also forced me to try new things that test my mental and physical skillsets. With that, I force myself to sometimes accept failure and frustration but often experience satisfaction and self-confidence I otherwise would have missed out on. It’s true what they say- the more you mess around, the more you’ll find out 😉

I’m grateful for friends, like Zach and Olivia, and strangers who are confident in me even when I am not and encourage my creative journey. Cheers to creating more in 2023!

Delivered and installed these final products this morning! Megan and Randy are always thinking up ways to spruce up their home and I’m grateful they trust me to help.

BIG Spoon and Fork:
Hand drawn by the lovely (and very sexy) .miller of these bad boys are ~7”x30”
I had to get a little creative when it came to shaping the bowl of the spoon- I used my angle grinder and slowly worked the bowl into shape. Then sanded. And sanded a few more times. We wanted the cutlery to have an “antique” feel so the grinder was good for adding a bit of “worn” texture.

Industrial Shelves:
These beasts came in at 12”x96” each! I used 1” black pipe to construct the brackets and give it an industrial look. Can’t wait to see them all decorated!

Creative juices were flowing today so I decided to make some cutting boards in a variety of different sizes and each with a unique routered edge.
•

Refresh Friday!!
•
Spent the day refreshing this mantle and over-mantle for Carrie and Brett. They are going to paint the shiplap and mount a beautiful new TV in the space.
•
The GORGEOUS oak barn beam used for the mantle measures 7.5”x7.5”x57” and came from a collapsed barn south of Bowling Green, OH. The plan is to finish off the mounts with faux peg covers to give it that natural barn wood look.
•
So happy with the turnout and very grateful for the opportunity!

Delivered this sultry shelving unit yesterday and felt REAL good about it. Custom fabricated 1”x2”steel tube and inlaid pine shelves stained Special Walnut. The shelves are biscuit-jointed and the fasteners are hidden within the horizontal cross braces of the freestanding steel brackets.
•
This 16”x24”x80” beast serves as the seventh piece of the “Cody and Anna Living Room Set” 😂
•
But seriously, very grateful for those who trust me with bringing their vision to life. Especially when they trust me enough to keep doing it 😘 Cody and Anna gave me a scratch piece of paper and a couple of inspiration photos and we hit the ground running. Big thanks to you both!

Been a quiet couple months on the woodworking front but here are some coasters I made for to stuff a couple stockings with!

A garage without power makes it almost impossible to work on any projects in the winter but has allowed me to focus on time with the fam. Looking forward to getting the saw dust flying again once the weather warms up! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

🪞$20 mirror without a frame? No problem 🪞

My thrifty wife picked up this 36”x61” mirror off of Facebook Marketplace for cheap and she’s been asking for it to be framed for a few months now. Finally had a chance to knock it out today 😌
