A former customer had reached out for a duplicate doll and requesting a replacement of the lost baby of the original order. I can’t even begin to describe how much it meant to me that she went through the effort to find me to help her with this. For me, making dolls is about the sentimentality to the person more than anything. I’m so so happy that I could help!

Due to life circumstances we are moving to Redding in the next month! This will put a long delay on any orders. I got a request for a Totoro doll and on completion, it looked absolutely nothing like the pattern. I kept asking myself, is it me? Regardless, there’s no way I could demand payment for the doll made on the left. It looks a bit like a squirrel hit a power line and nothing like the beloved Ghibli character.

I felt I had no choice but to design my own pattern with the yarn I had (pictured on right and bottom photos).
