So far, one of my favorite canning recipes this year is this fabulous Chicago style Italian Giardiniera! I grew all the chili peppers, Serranos, jalapeños, and Mamma Mia Italian grilling peppers from seed! Gardening with a purpose!

So I had a call today from a family member so disgusted that her green beans are doing terrible this year and mentioned that mine looked so great on Facebook.

And I said well, they look great until they don’t! I just pulled up most of my green bean plants yesterday afternoon because production had slowed down, and when I took a closer look, they had a bunch of knobby galls on the stems and the beans underneath were real Spindly.  Even with a weekly arber spray program, they still got diseased.

I usually have a million cucumber beetles and stink bugs but so far I haven’t seen one cucumber beetle, so I am overwhelmed with a ton cucumbers and have refrigerator pickles in the fridge by the millions! 🤣🤣🤣

Our grapes on the Arbor are doing fabulous(still) but the two grapes on the cattle panel got powdery mildew so bad they looked like they were sugarcoated! So of course we took those out.

Every year is so different you can’t even anticipate what’s gonna happen, ever!!!🤣🤣🤣
