I got some news just now…

“Thank you for applying to this year’s Clark County Open Studios Tour — and congratulations! We’re excited to let you know that your studio has been selected for the 2026 tour.

Clark County’s arts community continues to grow, and Open Studios plays a key role in showcasing the incredible talent of local artists. We're thrilled to have you join us in celebrating and promoting the diverse creativity in our region.

Open Studios is a program of Artstra, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts. While Artstra provides overall management and marketing support, the tour's success depends on the artists' enthusiasm, professionalism, and participation. Your contribution is vital, and we’re so glad to have you a part of it!”

So mark your calendars for November 7-8, 2026! Hours are 10:00-5:00 both days. I’ll have a lot of new work available during the tour, and hope to see you! Also, I’ll be doing some demonstrations, so if you want to see how I make my pieces, be sure to let me know. Advanced notice will be helpful if there is something special you’d like to see demonstrated.

Wahoo! Celebration time! Thanks for your support.

I’m making some teapots for Ceramic Showcase. The first one is finished, and will dry slowly before firing. The second one is in the decorating stage and will be done with blue slip and a different design. These are fun!

I started the bisque kiln this morning with two blue pie plates (one is already spoken for), two pasta bowls (basically large shallow bowls) in blue and ivy green, three smaller bowls with a decorated blue rim, and six gnomes! Stay tuned. If all goes well, I’ll glaze tomorrow or Monday and fire them. They should be available mid-week.

Gnomes and Santas are selling at a good clip, so I demonstrated gnome making all afternoon today. These guys will be ready in a couple of weeks. There are still quite a few pieces in the gallery shed for the Open Studio Tour tomorrow. See you then, I hope.
