SAVI Clayworks at the Naselle Finnish-American Folk Festival! Here’s the scoop! There is music and fun too!

Revontuli! Jennifer Pratt-Walter and Valerie Blessley are playing a concert at the Naselle Finnish-American Folk Festival, Naselle, WA on Friday at 2:00 pm in the Commons. Valerie will also be teaching beginning kantele workshops on Friday at 11:00 am and Saturday at 2:00 pm.

Mark Blessley will have five string Kanteles for sale in our Blessley Instruments/SAVI Clayworks booth in the Tori (Marketplace). Now is your chance to check out the micro-kantele necklaces from Mark!

And yes, Valerie will have her Nordic inspired pottery for sale as well. We would love to see you in Naselle! It is a great festival and will have some other Finnish musicians, vendors, food booths, historic information, lectures, dancing, and many happy people as well! It’s a lovely drive from Vancouver/Portland, and it’s cooler at the coast!

I will be at the Naselle Finnish-American Folk Festival this month in Naselle, WA. It’s across the River from Astoria, OR. Mark and I will have a booth in the Tori (marketplace) for pottery and Finnish kanteles (national instrument). The dates are July 23-24, 2026. I will be playing a concert with Jennifer Pratt-Walter (as Revontuli) in the Commons at 2:00 pm. I will also teach kantele playing workshops, Friday at 11:00 am, and Saturday at 3:00 pm. The Tori is open all day both days, and Mark or I will be there.

I got some news just now…

“Thank you for applying to this year’s Clark County Open Studios Tour — and congratulations! We’re excited to let you know that your studio has been selected for the 2026 tour.

Clark County’s arts community continues to grow, and Open Studios plays a key role in showcasing the incredible talent of local artists. We're thrilled to have you join us in celebrating and promoting the diverse creativity in our region.

Open Studios is a program of Artstra, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts. While Artstra provides overall management and marketing support, the tour's success depends on the artists' enthusiasm, professionalism, and participation. Your contribution is vital, and we’re so glad to have you a part of it!”

So mark your calendars for November 7-8, 2026! Hours are 10:00-5:00 both days. I’ll have a lot of new work available during the tour, and hope to see you! Also, I’ll be doing some demonstrations, so if you want to see how I make my pieces, be sure to let me know. Advanced notice will be helpful if there is something special you’d like to see demonstrated.
