Introduction/About Me: some of you have followed me for years. Some are new. But I’ve never officially introduced the woman behind the logo and fancy cakes. This is me. Dorothy.. or more accurately known as the “Dee” in Dees Desserts. I’ve been making cakes and desserts for over 15 years. I’ve worked in other businesses. I started my own part time and did both for awhile. And in 2018 I quit any other job to solely focus on Dees Desserts. I do everything from start to finish. Taking orders, shopping for supplies, baking and decorating, maintaining the website and social media, answering phone calls texts and emails, making deliveries. I literally do anything you can imagine that goes into my business BY MYSELF. I’ve built up this business by word of mouth and little marketing - with the exception of some social media posts and news letters (join if you haven’t on the website!) I love what I do and I’m so happy I get to do it every day. But with this comes pitfalls. I have to carve out personal time because while I’m baking for everyone else I miss out events and family time and holidays. My weekends are spent in the car delivering orders. Or I’m running around day to day to grab last minute supplies and ingredients. I’m constantly on the go. So when I don’t answer that phone call, or text back right away, or miss an email - it’s because I’m either doing any one (or sometimes multiple) thing from above .. or possibly sleeping since I work typically 14-18 hour days to make everyone’s fabulous party treats. Please allow me some grace. If you need me immediately send a text or email and I do my best to answer, especially when it’s important. But sometimes.. I just can’t. I love being a businesswoman and I love creating treats but I can’t do everything all at once. This is why moving forward changes to the business, ordering process, and pricing are coming. I don’t want to close up shop but maintaining it all in a demanding business takes its toll. Please be patient (and kind). And as always thanks for my loyal customer base that keeps me going 💕
