Beginning and Continuing Wheel Throwing.

$280 Per Person / Ages 7 and up
Wednesday, Aug 12, 2026 / 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Instructor: Veronica Levin

Learn to make simple shapes including cups, mugs, bowls and plates. Trimming, surface decoration techniques, and glazing will also be covered.
• 2 hr class meets Wednesdays for 8 weeks
• No prior experience necessary
• All tools, clay, glazes, firing, shelf space, and open studio time included
• Students under the age of 18 may take the class but must be accompanied by a parent / guardian (parent / guardian not required to enroll in class)

Each class is a two hour session with instructor, the last 30 minutes of which are dedicated to clean up.
Pieces will be available for pick-up 2 weeks after the class has been completed. (Pieces can be mailed, with prior arrangement, at an additional cost.)

Many students like to take this class more than once to continue improving their wheel throwing skills.
Returning students will continue to improve their wheel throwing skills and work on projects which will incorporate lids, handles, and various surface decoration techniques.

Join us for our One-Time Wheel Throwing Class and learn the basics of pottery in a fun, relaxed environment—no experience necessary!

Friday, July 24, 2026
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
$75 per person
Ages 7+

Our experienced instructor will guide you every step of the way. You'll have time to practice before creating your own final piece to keep. Whether you're coming with friends, planning a unique date night, or trying something new on your own, this class is the perfect introduction to the pottery wheel.

Feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer and enjoy a creative evening!

Your finished piece will be glazed and fired for you, and we'll email you when it's ready for pickup (approximately 2–3 weeks after class). Pickup is available 24/7 from our outdoor pottery pickup bench.

Participants under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (the parent/guardian does not need to register for the class).

🏺🏺🏺 OFFSITE Hot Flash Pottery - Beginning Wheel Throwing (8-Week Series)

Tuesdays, July 7 - September 1

Get your hands dirty in this 8-week wheel throwing pottery class designed for beginners and returning students alike! Learn the basics of working on the pottery wheel while creating functional pieces like cups, mugs, bowls, and plates. Along the way, you’ll explore centering, throwing, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing—watching your clay transform from a lump into something you’ll actually use at home.

What we’ll be up to each week:

Week 1: Studio intro, rules, centering, and playing with clay

Week 2: Throwing a bowl

Week 3: Trimming

Week 4: Throwing a cylinder

Week 5: Trimming

Week 6: Student-choice throwing (last week with wet clay!)

Week 7: Trimming

Week 8: Glazing and finishing touches

🚌🚌🚌 Transportation will be provided via the PZSC minibus, so just bring your creativity—we’ll handle the ride! Participants will meet in the PZSC Cafe at 10:30 AM for departure. Summer is just around the corner and it’s time for Kid’s Pottery Camp!

SESSION I:
Wed 6/17, Thurs 6/18, Fri 6/19
10am - Noon

SESSION II:
Mon 6/22, Tues 6/23, Wed 6/24
10am - Noon

- Each session is three consecutive days
- students will use hand building techniques to make a different project each day
- All pieces will be hand-built, there will be no time on the pottery wheel
- Pieces will be ready for pick-up 3 weeks after end of camp
- All pieces will be food and dishwasher safe
- $105 All materials are included
- Drop-off class (parents are welcome to stay but must sit outside of classroom as there is limited space)

Bring mom and make a Toad House! You'll create your piece using slab-building techniques and also decorate it using stamps, rollers and underglazes.

After we have bisque and glazed fired your piece, it will be ready for pickup within approximately 3 weeks.

$50 includes all materials, no experience necessary.
