Preparation
1️⃣ For the Cookies:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Scoop dough (about 2 tablespoons per cookie) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
2️⃣ For the Frosting:
In a medium bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat until fluffy.
If desired, add food coloring to the frosting.
Once cookies are completely cool, frost as desired.
