This summer is miserable! The continuous over 100 heat index really makes it impossible to move forward on some projects around here!

I love seeing the different birds nest around here.
(This will stay in the tree as long as it can )
But, I do have a collection of nests that have fallen from different trees after storms, or built in places like the gas grill.

What do you do with found nests?

Went to check on the guineas after the dog chased them off. Found it just chilling in the "bamboo forest".

Everywhere on the property is so pretty!
When you stop out for the you-pick, feel free to bring a picnic and take a walk around the different areas.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted this beauty!

I thought for sure she was with my named varieties, but no. She's from my seedlings!

I couldn't be happier!
She's absolutely perfect! Nice and tall, strong stems!
Time to get cuttings going to grow over winter! I definitely do not want to lose this one!

Ya'll, I'm SO proud of my little seedling!

I wear my flowers in my hair (a lot! )

Well, today I picked 5 flowers to wear, down my braid like a Mohawk.
I picked a few named varieties, and a few of my seedlings.
My seedling (affectionately named "Red Wolf" for now) was one of them.
After 6 hours ( 3 in the baking sun). She still looks pretty darn good. The others dropped one by one already.

I didn't look to see who this first one was, but I can't wait to see her open! 😍And a few more blooms from today! What b...
