I'm thrilled to share that two of my works have been accepted for the upcoming Force of Nature art exhibition at the Virginia Beach Art Center!

🌟Coastal Tapestry 7
-A timeless dance of the surf and sea. This tumultuous moment signifies the shifting power of the tides.

🌟Whispers of the Mycelium Network: A Concert of Life
-In the shadowed depths of the forest floor, a silent symphony hums beneath the surface. A delicate tapestry of fungal threads weaves through the earth, the forest's unseen caretaker, a guardian of growth and harmony. The Mycelium fosters relationships among the trees, allowing them to channel support and knowledge to one another through its web. In its delicate threads, the forest finds strength, resilience, and a quiet, enduring magic that sustains the woodland.

It’s an honor to be a part of this exhibition and share my work alongside so many talented artists. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this creative journey!

During my first semester at ODU I was tasked with creating a professional writing portfolio (linked below). I also had a term project that allowed me to use my passion for felting to explore literature I studied in class. With that project I also wrote an essay about my journey as an artist and experiences with felting.

Here are some pictures of my project, a felt sculpture called “Relinquish the Purple Flower: a Tribute to Marita Bonner.” It focuses on the topic of equality, analyzing what we can learn from Bonner and her play “The Purple Flower,” my essay “Binding Fibers” goes into more detail for anyone interested. You can read the essay, as well as other reviews I wrote over the course of the semester, on the web page linked below. I hope you enjoy it!

I haven’t been posting artwork for a while because I have been so busy with my first semester at Old Dominion University! Even though I’m an English major, I’m grateful there’s room in my curriculum for art. Here’s a sneak peak of a term project I’m working on, can’t wait to show the final piece 🥰
