I am a little behind with Social Media, but wanted to say that it was amazing to meet with Kitty and Ricky from Ribickie Farms LLC . They are a mushroom farm (and more) out in Franklin, VA. They are usually in Norfolk twice a month for farmers markets. Check them out for detailed information.

They took time out of their day to show me all the wonderful things they do and share their tremendous wealth of knowledge. Hopefully we can find more ways that we can help one another as small farmers. Also, I'd like to have a special shoutout to Community Farmers for all they do with helping connect local businesses.

There’s just something special about seeing a crane out in the wild. With their long legs, huge wings, and unmistakable calls, these beautiful birds are hard to miss! They love wetlands and open spaces and play an important role in the ecosystems they call home.
Fun fact: Some cranes can live for decades and travel thousands of miles during migration!
The Virginia Society of Ornithology lists the Sandhill Crane as “Occasional” in Virginia. There have been sightings right here in the Virginia Beach area, including Princess Anne, Muddy Creek, and Alanton. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!
