Get • We are just 3 days away from our Earth Day Community Cleanup! We have check-in sites along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, North End, ViBe Creative District and Shadowlawn. We will be giving away 4 pairs of lawn seats to the Dave Matthews Band concert at the at Virginia Beach on June 6 to four lucky volunteers who check in with us at the Earth Day Cleanup. If you are not able to make the Virginia Beach cleanup, there will be another chance to win a pair of tickets by showing us your cleanup photos from anywhere in Virginia during the month of April. Painted Tree has abruptly closed for good so I am moving out this week. However, there are still other places to get goodies! I just dropped off some of your favorite eco-friendly, reusable items at on Birdneck Road. You can also find me at and on select Saturdays. Ecomaniaccompany.com is an option too!
This sudden closure is going to hurt a lot of small, local businesses. Please support them when you can.

I know some of you have already heard the news but Painted Tree informed its staff and vendors this morning that they were permanently closing and we needed to move out asap. This is sad and disappointing to say the least! I know many of you shopped at my booth and I appreciate that! I was often told by the Painted Tree staff that Eco Maniac Company was one of the most asked for booths and many of my customers refused to take plastic bags (way to go!).
Eco Maniac Company has been around for 18 years and survived a lot, we will get through this too. You can still find us online and at Life Is Gouda 757, the VB Lazy Daisy and Old Beach Art & Eco Market on some Saturdays. With my job as Executive Director of Clean Virginia Waterways it’s going to be a little tricky to start something new, but we’ll see.
Please also keep in mind all of the other small local businesses that were in there and support them when you can. This is a pretty big hit for many of them.

This Saturday, January 3rd, join for a Holiday Hangover Beach Cleanup and Ugly Christmas Sweater Exchange! We’ll meet up in front of at 10am and clean the beach and boardwalk area. We’ll supply cleanup supplies such as gloves and grabbers. If you have an ugly sweater you’d like to exchange, hand that in at sign-in for a ticket to grab a new sweater after the cleanup.
Join us after the cleanup for a slice at ChiChos as we warm up and celebrate clean waterways.

It’s almost weekend!! This is one of my favorite events of the year where everything sold is made in an environment where all artists, makers, farmers are paid fairly for their work and follow sustainable practices. will be there with the Eco-Mobile and tons of eco-friendly and fair trade gifts and goods including upcycled and plastic free ornaments, accessories, totes, home goods, kitchenware and more from all over the world. Eat, drink and be merry at .brewing with live music all weekend. Hope to see you there!
