Reminiscing on the one time I was introduced to Angelina’s.
A fun walk downtown, Cozy space, big flavor, and unforgettable gyros. 🇬🇷 Half the fun of traveling is trying local gems like Angelina’s Greek Gyros in Portland! Major thanks to my cousin for the killer recommendation 🤤🥙

My husband and I shared because we planned on getting more food ridge after…. But we were so upset we did t get our own🤭🫠 haha they were THAT good!

I can’t believe my garden is Gardening!!
I’ve worked hard. I’ve been patient. I’ve failed. And I tried again. And here we are:

Strawberries, bell peppers, serrano chile, lemons, sweet potatoes, bananas

How are my strawberries STILL growing in Off season?
And HOW the heck will my Garden survive Winter?

Campbell's is what we grew up on, so that’s what we used to thicken 😋

Why I’ll always choose local:

There’s a massive difference between getting a drink made by a machine and a drink made by someone who loves what they do.

At Component Coffee .. it’s literally just that 🥼🧪
If I ask for recommendations they never miss, they’re pretty quick, always pretty smiles , & their crafty good food you can’t get anywhere else! The Component Coffee Lab is a literally whole “vibe” — Employees, Ty for doing what you do, every visit is special!🤙🏽🌱

🗣️“Matcha Drinkers”— I hear some of you complain that “MATCHA TASTE TOO GRASSY” bro, it’s literally grounded up leaves, what you mean? Hahah

So, that being said if you like your matcha’s Extra Sweet, Full of Milk, cereal, & marshmallows etc.. this might not be your thing OR Maybe just ask for it extra sweet haha The flavor is so good!🔥🔥🔥🔥

Matcha 🍵 is meant to taste mostly leafy, but this place makes it enjoyable with the right amount of everything— I love their drive for experimenting and creating original & high Quality food & drinks.

Don’t act like you didn’t see that win… NINER GANG🏆

This here is a complete and total experiment. I used what I had at home. And, it’s my BEST ONE YET.

✨Chocolate banana nut bread.. using only cocoa powder for chocolate.

• Mixed in under 10 minutes and baked for 40 minutes 350°F (don’t ask me what size pan this is… I don’t know) hahaha

WHAT I USED:
• 2 hella ripe bananas (they were black)
• ⅓ cup - ½ cup light brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
• ⅓ cup butter (or neutral oil: as vegetable, canola, or melted coconut oil)
• ½ cup oat milk (add more if texture is too thick)
• 1-2 tsp Mexican vanilla extract
• 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
• ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• quick shake of salt

EXTRAS
•chopped walnuts
• date syrup inside batter and on top.
• sprinkle with sugar & walnuts before baking for crispy top
• chocolate chips are optional, I didn’t have any!

BAKING TIP👩🏽‍🍳

ADD the flour LAST
+ DO NOT OVER MIX.
OVER-MIXING: activates the gluten proteins in the flour, which ruins the texture and structure of the loaf. (I learned the hard way)

Weather is cooling & pomegranates are in season??
This was going to happen at some point.

SOUR LOVERS… Squeeze the lemon & limes + Sprinkle sea salt & you got the perfect snack for a movie night on the couch 🛋️ 🤤

🎬We watched Weapons 🍿🫣
scared the heck out of me, and that takes a lot. but the story was good. (NOT FOR KIDS)

Officially stepping out of the kitchen and into the smoke! 🔥 Starting from scratch on the classic Weber charcoal grill with some assistance (my husband).🤍
— Weber Grills

We kept it classic with fresh patties, buns, produce, and chips from our local grocery store Save Mart!

We fired it up using Matt Pittman - Meat Church charcoal— And let me tell you we went on a treasure hunt for it!🚗
We went to 3 different stores & finally found
Meat Church at Ace Hardware 🎉
they had the best variety of charcoal!

Let’s just say we’re hooked on that Smokey charcoal flavor thanks to my Dad!

Watching my husband and dad master the fire today reminds me of how much I love seeing this kind of traditional, grounded masculinity in action.

✊🏽There is something so special about men doing what they do best—providing, gathering, and handling the heat.
I honestly wish we could bring more of this timeless energy back into everyday life. So deeply appreciative of these two and everything they do.

Used a 1970s West End slow cooker that my Nana gave me to make pot roast and it was best I’ve ever made😭

— I used what I had on hand & used top round sirloin instead of a full chuck piece—

I also tried to make a “stew” but made a soup instead in my Dutch oven 🫕>>

Classic dessert, but I added more crunch ✨

What I Used:
- whole milk Rosa Brothers Milk Company
- nilla wafers
- banana cream pudding
- vanilla
- cool whip
** my personal touch, honey roasted peanuts.. it creates the perfect crunchy texture **

Layer how you like, but personally didn’t add bananas unail the last 2 TOP layers. Peanuts only on the Top Layer with bananas✨

Everything bought at our local Save Mart and a Big Plus about this store… when you buy Rosa Brothers Milk Company milk , IF you bring this glass bottle back to savemart to be recycled, you get $$ back🫶🏽💚♻️💰 (perks)
