It just so happens that once upon a time I was on a business trip to Alaska. As I was driving from Anchorage to Seward with no way of listening to music or a radio, I was alone with my thoughts. I kept seeing signs with a moose on it stating "Moose Crossing". I so wanted to see a real live moose right there in Alaska. Coincidentally, I had been trying to come up with a clever name for my craft sho
w, and since I am fond of moose, I decided I needed to incorporate a moose into the title. As I drove I wondered what I could rhyme with moose. There are several different species of pine trees in Alaska, and I was passing by them all day long. A couple of hours into the drive, it hit me: SPRUCE MOOSE. How clever would that be for the name of the craft show? And so it became. The Spruce Moose is a dynamic craft show, wherein we try to mix it up a little bit each year. Some years we have the same crafters, and other years, it seems we have a bunch of new ones. So thank you for taking the time to read the story, and we hope to see you at the "Moose" this year.
