How do you like your white furniture - CHIPPY or PRISTINE?

There are definitely two schools of thought when it comes to painted white furniture.

TEAM CHIPPY:
Give me the worn edges. The layers of old paint. The dings, scratches and imperfections that make a piece look like it has lived a life.

You know what we mean.

Wood. Leather. Vibrant reds. Dried stems. Pottery that looks just a little imperfect.

It’s the stuff that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.

And the best part? You don’t have to completely redecorate your house every time the season changes. Sometimes adding a basket, swapping out a pillow or draping a throw over the back of a chair is enough to change the whole feel of a room.

Hello, September. 🍂

The first of the -BER months has officially arrived.

And while the pumpkins are definitely starting to make their appearance, fall doesn’t have to mean covering every available surface with one.

Sometimes it’s simply a shift.

Warm woods. Amber and colored glass. A little brass. Woven baskets. Pottery. Vintage books. Richer textiles. Lamps that make a room feel warmer the second you turn them on.

It’s trading the bright and airy pieces of summer for things with a little more warmth, texture and history.

And right now, those little signs of the season are showing up all over Salvage Sisters.

It’s National Dog Day, which feels like a pretty good excuse to fill our Facebook feed with dogs!!

We know there are a lot of dog lovers in the Salvage Sisters family - team members and customers - and yes, some of us may have entire camera rolls dedicated to our four legged family members.

So today we want to see YOURS!!

Big dogs. Little dogs. Old dogs. Puppies. Perfectly posed pups and complete furry disasters.

Drop a picture of your dog in the comments and tell us their name! Bonus points if your pup is sitting on a piece of furniture you bought at Salvage Sisters. 😉

And if you didn’t know, Salvage Sisters has a whole accessory section for dog and cat lovers and this time the accessories are for humans. Think compact mirrors, sponges, pillows, and all sorts of fun little things designed to remind everyone just how much we love our four legged friends. Because apparently simply having their photos take up 87% of our camera roll isn’t enough.

So… someone dropped off a mirror. Not that unusual around here.

Except this particular mirror came with a little extra information: “It has an attachment.” And no, she wasn't talking about mounting hardware.

According to its previous owner, there may be a little more energy attached to this mirror than your average piece of home decor.

Do we know exactly what to make of that? Not really, but this sparks a conversation about energy, cleansing, intention - and our Chakra area.

Whether you believe spaces and objects can hold energy, you're curious about the traditions surrounding crystals and cleansing, or you simply love the scents and ritual of burning incense, there's a lot to explore.

We have crystals, bracelets, oils, incense, books, journals, smudge sticks and more for the spiritually curious, the energy conscious…and those of us who just think it all smells really good.

And maybe that's what we love most about having something like our Chakra area in the store. You don't have to know exactly what you believe. You can ask questions. You can be curious. You can learn what different things are traditionally used for - and decide for yourself what speaks to you.

Meet Morgan! 🏡❤️

Morgan has been a longtime Salvage Sisters shopper - but shopping looks a little different these days because she just bought her first house!

She moves in about a month, but she certainly isn't wasting any time making it feel like home. Today, she made her first big furniture purchase for the new place!

Morgan told us she’s been looking for pieces like these for a while, but everywhere else she found them, the prices were always higher. Then she found exactly what she was looking for at Salvage Sisters.

And THAT is one of the things we love most about this store. With 40+ vendors under one roof, you never know when the right piece, at the right price, is going to be waiting for you.

How do YOU use old books? 📚

Around here, we know an old book doesn’t necessarily have to be read to be useful. Stack them under a lamp. Add a few to a shelf for height. Use them on a coffee table. Turn them into risers for your favorite vintage finds - or simply display them because that worn cover and those perfectly aged pages are just too good to hide.

But here’s the real question... Are you Team Hardcover or Team Comics?

📖 Old hardcovers - faded spines, worn edges, beautiful typography and all that vintage character?

OR...

💥 Old comic books - colorful covers, nostalgic graphics and a whole lot more personality?

Bonus points if you show us how you use old books in your decorating!
