Joeveo Drinkware Joeveo makes the Temperfect Travel Mug: enjoy your coffee for hours without burning your mouth! Joeveo debuted as a Kickstarter project in 2013-2014.

We make the Temperfect mug, the coffee (and tea) mug that lets you enjoy your drink right away without it burning your mouth, and without it getting cold before you’re done. Our mugs were invented, designed and are made right here in Wake Forest, North Carolina, from parts sourced in China and the USA.

That was one of the main motivations for the Temperfect Mug: I wanted to create a coffee mug that was so much better than a paper cup that it would motivate people to forgo those when visiting coffee shops, where (very) roughly 600 MILLION disposable cups are used, and disposed of, daily, worldwide.

We worked with a team of engineering students at the University of Wisconsin Platteville during this year's spring semester. Their task was to come up with new, leakproof, lid design concepts for our Temperfect mug. Here are some of the designs that made it to the prototype stage.

The ones they focused on were actuated through the lid with magnets on a sliding, and locking, puck which actuates the sealing mechanism on the inside, also carrying one or more magnets. It worked well in their testing, with a leak-free seal against up to 5 psi internal pressure.

This kind of project is good for us because it generates fresh ideas and gets them tested, and good for the students to get experience with a real-world problem (not to mention a degree!). Thanks Sam, Joah, Parker and Adam, (and the staff at UW-P) it was a pleasure working with you! (dean)

Joeveo ten years ago: I discovered this video in an old point and shoot camera last week. This is a tool I made during development of our Temperfect mug to form the threads that hold the lid in place.
