Here's a short story on why chairs are one of the most expensive things to paint (and in this case they also got reupholstered)... Yes it is cheaper to buy new ones! BUT... It will not be cheap if you are buying solid wood and sturdy chairs... So there's always a trade off...
For the record just for the sake of the video length I haven't mentioned multiple other steps in this project, like 3 coats of primer, 2 coats of sealer, going back and forth with "measles", constant sanding in between coats and the initial sanding... I think you get the idea😅 I will post just pictures in the next post for those who don't want to watch the video!

This is the story how I bonded with my client's door that I painted, that I lived with for a few months ,some of which were in our living room...

This freshly (not really, and I'll tell you why) painted door is finally hung! If there's a brand new door that has a story to tell , it's this door. In short... Client decided to get an exterior door replaced somewhere in late fall, lo and behold it's June and it's done! So if you are interested there's a few things to consider when you buy an exterior door that you want painted and don't want to wait for a few months.
1. Do not buy knotty alder... That is not a good good for painting, it's not meant for it.
2. Avoid floating panels... Trust me
3. Allow a whole month for painting -AT LEAST! Top coat has to cure before it can be handled.
4. Do not do it in late fall-because as with my clients situation, the door was done before Xmas, but could not be hung due to cold and generally crappy weather.
5. Do not use Ben Moore Exterior paint-that's my opinion, and I'm sure some would disagree, but I don't care... Ok if you do use BM exterior-use airless sprayer. (Still not my favorite paint)
6. And finally but VERY IMPORTANT avoid buying doors from Home Depot... Not only this door was dropped upon delivery, it also came with the wrong size frame!

I'm away till 24th of May but here's my last project I finished right before I left, 2 matching chairs to compliment the breakfast bench- the chairs custom made by the owner of the house, upholstered by me!
See everyone in the end of May with more projects! I'm hoping for the weather to stay warm and dry so I can begin my painting season! 🖤🖤🖤
